LQG Quilt Show is held every two years.

The Lake Quilters Guild at Smith Mountain Lake will hold its biennial quilt show on June 7th and June 8th, 2024, at the Eastlake Community Church which is located at 1201 Timberwood Lane, Moneta, VA. 24121. Show times will be Friday, June 7th, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, June 8th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The theme of the show is “Quilts For All Seasons”, and approximately 100 quilts and quilt-related items will be on display. The show will also include a quilt raffle, gift basket raffles, and vendors selling quilting/sewing items, purses, jewelry, and wallets.

Additionally, there is a new feature at the show this year – a Boutique with artisan items for sale!!

Admission is $10.00 per person. Be sure to stop by - we'd love to meet you!

CONGRATULATIONS to the Raffle Quilts winners: Viona Jones and Brenda Gay Shumaker!!

Our 2022 quilt show was held on April 29-30, 2022 at the Bethlehem United Methodist Church on Rt 122 across from the Moneta/SML Library in Moneta, VA

There were more than 100 quilts on display as well as wearables, table runners, bowl cozies, purses, and miniature quilts. There were also Bee displays showcasing quilt works by our Bee members. In addition, representatives from the Roanoke Quilts of Valor (QOV) group had a booth to display their works and provide information on the QOV initiatives. Members of the church provided delicious lunches and snacks for purchase. Quilt Photos will continue to be added - check back again, please.

Lake Quilters Guild Quilt Show 2018

Our 2018 Quilt Show "Our Quilts, Our Passion" was held on April 6th & 7th at Trinity Ecumenical Parish, 40 Lakemount Drive, Moneta, Virginia. There were more than 160 quilts on display. In addition to our quilts, there were a number of displays made by our bee members. Members of the church provided a delicious lunch for everyone to purchase and enjoy. We offered two beautiful raffle quilts (see more below).

Our 2018 Quilt Show Raffle Quilts: On the left is Tumbling Blocks made by Jackie Hodgson and quilted by Cathy Fandel. It will fit a king sized bed! On the right is our second raffle quilt made by Stephanie Schaefer and quilted by Alicia Knox.

Lake Quilters Guild Quilt Show 2016

Our 2016 Quilt show, "Celebrating Quilting 2016" was held on April 1st & 2nd at Trinity Ecumenical Parish, 40 Lakemount Drive, Moneta, Virginia. More than 160 quilts were on display and 520 attended the show (this includes paid attendees, children and volunteers). 81 volunteers helped make the show run smoothly. We are blessed to have so many talented members who happily share their quilts with everyone. Also we're grateful for all the volunteers who make it happen.

This a slideshow of all the 2015 Block of the Month quilts that were displayed at the quilt show. These quilts celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Smith Mountain Lake. Each BOM participant individualized her quilt by adding personal photos and/or appliqué depicting favorite lake scenes. The instructor was Cindy Clark. She made four Anniversary quilts. One was donated to the SML Chamber of Commerce, and one was donated to the guild to be raffled at the quilt show (see below). The 2016 Quilt Show Team

Quilt Show Raffle Quilts. Two quilts (see below) were raffled this year, "SML 50 Anniversary Quilt," pieced and quilted by Cindy Clark and "Something to Cherish," pieced by Karen Arends and several members from various bees and quilted by Alecia Knox. The "SML 50th Anniversary Quilt" was won by Nancy Robbins. "Something to Cherish" was won by Joyce Lortscher.

Lake Quilters Guild Quilt Show 2014

Our 2014 Quilt show "Quilting: A Living Legacy" was held on April 4th & 5th, 2014. It was co-chaired by Vicki Seekford and Lori Suon. More than 175 quilts were on display and over 509 people attended the quilt show. More than 80 volunteers helped make the show happen. Of course, the real heros are the many members who displayed their quilts.

This is just a sampling of the many quilts on display. Information has been added to the slideshow photos that identifies the winners of the Viewer's Choice Awards. My apologies to Linda Pote and Joyce Noell who had additional winning quilts that did not appear in this slideshow. Also, Bette Gove's entry in the Rainbow Quilts tied for 2nd place in the quilt show viewer's choice. The other Rainbow winners are the same as the winners that appear on the 2013 Rainbow Challenge page.

Quilt Show Raffle Quilts. Cindy Clark produced two quilts for the quilt show raffle. The quilts were on display at The General Store, then traveled to The Quilting Connection and to The Crooked Stitch. Raffle tickets were available at the quilt show and prior to the show from LQG members.

 

 "Garden Bloom" was won by Stephanie Schaefer.

"Rainbow with a Twist" was won by Nancy Robbins.

Both winners are Lake Quilter's Guild Members who sold (and purchased) lots of tickets.
