Block of the Month Each year a different project is chosen. The participants are provided with instructions and/or patterns for the block each month. At the end of the year, each participant will have enough blocks to make a quilt, wall hanging, or various projects, depending on the plan for the year. Click on the year to learn more about that year's project. 2023 Block of the Month. The 2023 Block of the Month will be a "Puzzle" Block Quilt. Check monthly Newsletter for more details about specific blocks!! 2022 Block of the Month. No Block of the Month for 2022. 2021 Block of the Month. No Block of the Month took place due to Covid Restrictions. 2020 Block of the Month. Covid interupted this year's BOM. Block of the month will begin in February with the River Queen Bee doing the programs. The theme this year is: A Quilters Diary. The cost is $10.00, which includes all patterns and instructions for the year. Class begins at 12pm the day of the guild meeting. Each class will have a different instructor and a choice of two blocks. 2019 Beginner Class. This class began on Jan. 22 and met during the Block of the Month time. The class covered tools, color, fabric, rotary cutting, accurate seaming, pressing, piecing, half square triangles, flying geese and many other topics. This class ended with the September meeting. 2018 No Block of the Month met. 2017 Block of the Month - Chairperson: Dottie Wilson. This year's BOM will be exploring a variety of techniques while making purses, totes, bags and other small one class projects. Meets in Classroom A at Trinity from noon until 12:30pm on the day of the guild meeting. View photos of projects. Block of the Month did not meet in June or July. 2016 Block of the Month - Chairperson: Susan Palmer. This year's BOM will be a year of monthly patterns Bring $5 to cover the cost of a year's worth of pattern copies. Meets in Classroom A at Trinity from noon until 12:30pm on the day of the guild meeting. 2015 Block of the Month - Chairperson: Cindy Clark. This year's project was a SML 50th Anniversary Quilt. Photo transfers and landscape blocks added to the overall design. Cindy presented this quilt to the Chamber of Commerce for the Lake's 50th Anniversary and she also made three more! One of these was donated to the Guild to be raffled at the 2016 Quilt Show. Several of the class participants exhibited their quilts at the quilt show.
